The do’s and don’ts of party season fashion

Party season is approaching and whilst we can’t wait for all the festive fun, we have the age-old drama of what to wear? What you wear for the office Christmas party, is not the same as what you would wear for the Christmas Ball. Fashion for your girl’s night out is, probably not what you would go for sat opposite your in-laws on Christmas Day.
Here are some do’s and don’ts for party season dressing, from in-house stylist, Jessie.

The Office Party

Even though it is a party, you are still out with your colleagues. Definitely relax your work attire but still keep it classy.

Nothing too tight or showing too much skin, tops with stomach holes are probably not the vibe to go for here!

A stylish jumpsuit or elegant length skirt with a sleeve can look striking yet keeps an air of sophistication.

Christmas Ball

For those of us lucky enough to be attending a Christmas Ball, always consider the theme, remember who the organiser is and what the general age of the other guests may be.

Balls and Gala Dinners are often long nights which take their toll on your feet. Always make sure you wear glamorous but comfortable shoes, no one wants to see you bare foot on the dance floor – it’s a ball not a festival.

Velvet is perfect for this occasion, a stunning gown which exudes elegance and style.

Night out with the girls

Out of all the events, this is the one where you really can be yourself. Wear the dress that makes you feel amazing, show some skin if you want too, have all the fun.

Choose festive colours such as red, green, silver or golds – just don’t go overboard on the festive accessories, tinsel is for trees, not earrings!

Christmas Day

Whether this be a day with family or friends, at home or in a gorgeous restaurant, Christmas Day is an occasion for style, class and importantly comfort.

We all overindulge on turkey, mince pies and sherry – tight fitting trousers and a crop top may not be the most flattering on this day.

A simple wrap dress, paired with some simple yet stylish jewellery creates a look that can take you from the dinner table to a fun festive evening.
